Such a huge part of being healthy is remembering to MOVE. But living in a city sometimes makes this feel like a challenge– for grown-ups and kids alike– and as moms, it’s not like we can always head out solo for a run, or go and hop on a spin bike. (Maybe that will be our next adventure– a spin class with baby bicycle seats attached?) In all seriousness, being active is pretty much like everything else– just seize the moment, and try to make it work for you. Spontaneous dance party anyone?
In New York City, it’s common to see moms running through the park in packs, pushing strollers with their left arm while pumping right fists wildly. And I have to admit: I partook in what has come to be known as strollercising…and loved it! It was a great way to get out when my guy was little (even if I ended up in some tourists’ scrapbooks under the obvious heading, “nuts”).
How does the place where you live impact your kids’ activity levels and your own? How do you find ways to be active as a family?
